myTracks for Mac OS X: „The iTunes for your GPS tracks“
In iPhoto ’09 Apple has integrated a new feature called Places. Photos can be assigned to locations on a map (manual geotagging). But there is no way to set the places automatically.
This is where myTracks comes into play. The locations of your photos will be set automatically (fully automatic geotagging) based on the tracks of a GPS data logger, sometimes also called GPS tracker. By now, GPS loggers are very cheap and should belong to any photographer. myTracks supports a lot of different GPS loggers. So the import of GPS tracks is just a click of a button.
The identification of the exposure location of a photo is just another click of a button. Just select your photos in iPhoto, or any other photo application, drop them to myTracks‘s dock icon. That‘s it!
